Doing What Matters for Jobs & the Economy in Retail/Hospitality/Tourism
Doing What Matters is a new framework that gives community colleges the opportunity to become essential catalysts to California’s economic recovery and jobs creation at the local, regional and state levels. Community colleges invest in California’s economic growth and global competitiveness through industry-specific education, training, and services that contribute to a highly skilled and productive workforce.
Retail/Hospitality/Tourism (RHT) is one of the 10 industries selected as a “priority” sector in three regions throughout the state (Los Angeles/Orange County, Central California, and Northern Bay). Each region is led by a different Deputy Sector Navigator (DSN) associated with a California Community College and overseen by the State Sector Navigator for the industry. The DSN for the Los Angeles & Orange County region is Ruth Cossio-Muniz. E-mail or connect with her via LinkedIn.
To see the breakdown of sectors and DSN representatives, please visit the interactive map on the Doing What Matters website.
